Stephen Hunt, director of Hunt Robinson, is the supervising programmer for the software division of the company. He brings over 25 years of programming experience in structural timber systems, from early development of timber truss design software, through innovative graphics input systems for truss detailing programs unique to Australia, to sophisticated interactive beam and framing programs for structural design by non-engineers.

Hunt Robinson Pty Ltd have been engaged as timber structural design consultants for the Glulam Timber Association of Australia (GLTAA). This is an industry organisation set up to create stability and quality assurance to the Australian Glulam industry, and to promote Glulam products. Over the past seven years our software team have been engaged to develop software for rapidly generating span table manuals for the members and their individual product ranges.

Now, enter a new age of beam software. In association with two of the members of the GLTAA, the team has now developed a new series of programs. A free version of the client design program TasDesign8 is available for download from this site. (Click on the logo on the left of this page). This program incorporates strict guidelines of design procedures of all elements laid out in the new AS1684.1 Design. Please note that this is a trial version of the software, and that if you want to continue to use the program beyond the 30 day trial period, you will have to contact Tasbeam (Aust) Pty Ltd, to register your copy.  There is no cost for registration, the program is free to use.
