Hunt Robinson Pty. Ltd. was established in July 1989 by Stephen Hunt and Darryl Robinson, both professional engineers with vast experience in timber engineering design. The company was originally created as a vehicle to support the timber industry with structural engineering data, including software development.

In 1993, Darryl Robinson's share was purchased by Stephen Hunt, when Darryl decided to take over the Gold Coast portion of the business and concentrate on Truss Industry support. During that time, and since, Hunt Robinson has expanded it's support to not just timber industry, but to general structural engineering support for a wide client base on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane areas.

Today, we have 10 full time staff, and a support team of geotechnical consultants and building surveyors to enhance our services to the building industry. Not only timber structures, but also concrete and steel, domestic, commercial and industrial structures are designed and detailed in our offices.

Timber design is still our specialty service, and now includes such diverse applications as pedestrian bridges and bird-watching platforms in Japan. The company has special service support ties to Glulam Timber manufacturers throughout Australia, has been appointed as the engineering consultants to the GLTAA, and sits on the technical advisory committee to that organization.
